WHERE WE WORK

Where elephants and people can thrive together
Wild Survivors works where the stakes for both wildlife and people are highest — on the frontlines of human–elephant coexistence.
Explore the ecosystems
protecting corridors, restoring habitats, and strengthening livelihoods.
Our programmes are delivered in three of Tanzania’s most important elephant landscapes. Each one is shaped by the people who live alongside elephants, informed by data that tracks change over time, and connected to a shared vision: healthy ecosystems, resilient communities, and secure futures for wildlife.
Rukwa-Katavi Ecosystem
This miombo woodland and wetland landscape supports over 4,000 elephants and links to Zambia through four critical corridors.
Our work includes beehive and chilli fences, women’s beekeeping enterprises, permaculture, and biodiversity monitoring, with early results showing major reductions in crop-raiding.
NGOROnGORO Ecosystem
A vital 3 km–wide corridor here connects more than 1,000 elephants from the highland forest to the Selela salt lake.
Our flagship Upper Kitete project has reduced conflict by over 90%, sustained entirely by the NARI Women’s Beekeeping Enterprise. The model now guides expansion to Kitete Village with women-led enterprises, permaculture, and elephant monitoring.
SERENGETI Ecosystem
In north-west Serengeti, farms sit directly on the park boundary, creating high-risk conflict — often faced by widowed mothers alone.
We’re combining deterrents, beehive fencing, and women’s enterprise hubs to protect farms and support livelihoods, while wildlife education builds community-wide conservation leadership.
